The size of our state government has ballooned over the past few years, and its growth has been fed by a spending addiction. The state budget has grown in recent years at three times the rate of inflation, and that growth is unsustainable. The growth of our government has resulted in redundancy on top of inefficiency and incomprehensible misalignment of programs.
This growth has also resulted in a higher tax burden on individuals and businesses. There is a direct correlation between the growth of state government and the rise in taxation, outward migration of businesses and people, and decreased economic growth and competitiveness.
In order to reverse this trend we must significantly cut the size of our state’s government and bring spending to its necessary minimum.
Cutting government, press conference at the State House in Trenton
We must transform our current government from 16 departments to 13 by eliminating and/or realigning 4 Departments and establishing one new department. These rectifications will allow us to decrease spending from its current level in excess of $30 billion to $25 billion.

These steps must be taken in order to cut spending, and cut taxes and to relieve the people of the shackles of big government. It is time we got government off our backs and out of our pockets.
