My Accomplishments
- Spearheaded two statewide campaigns that defeated Jon Corzine when he led the fight against Cozine’s 2007 tax raising ballot questions, and government expanding, debt accumulating, 800% toll hike scam.
- Followed through on his mayoral campaign promises to cut the size of his town’s government, cut spending, and lower taxes.
- Cut the size of government by 10% his first year as Mayor while ensuring residents still received quality, efficient services.
- After 12 years as Mayor, the town’s budget was lower when he left office than when he first became Mayor (when adjusted for inflation).
- Essentially froze spending and debt and kept taxes far below inflation over his 12 years as Mayor.
- Stood up to public worker unions that tried to take advantage of taxpayers in contract negotiations and instead negotiated contracts that were fair to both the employees and taxpayers.
- Won re-election twice by double-digit margins as a Republican in a 2-1 Democrat town that voted 64% for Barack Obama and 66% for Frank Lautenberg.
- Put a property rights referendum on the ballot to limit the use of eminent domain to a traditional public use; the referendum passed with 95% of the vote.
- Passed a taxpayer protection ordinance that limited growth of government spending and debt.
- Delivered the entire Republican ticket in the years he was on the ballot.
- Kept Republican council control in a 2-1 Democrat town for eleven straight elections.
- Worked his way up from a kitchen cabinet salesman to become owner of that small business. He subsequently expanded the business to include three showrooms and a manufacturing plant that created 75 new jobs.
- Has always put taxpayers first.
